- Your selected edition preference (CHRO, CTO, or CFO)
- Basic analytics (open rates, click rates) to improve content
How We Use Your Data

- Send you the Work Edge Daily newsletter (3x/week)
- Send occasional service updates
- Improve our content based on aggregate engagement data
What We Don't Do
- We never sell your email address
- We never share your data with third parties for marketing
- We don't track you across other websites
Cookies & Tracking
We use minimal cookies and tracking:
- Essential cookie: A/B testing preference (
ab-variant) stored for 30 days to keep your experience consistent.
- Access cookies: We use short-lived, HTTP-only cookies when you use a magic link (for example, to access the paid archive or to manage your subscription).
- Local storage: To reduce friction, we may store non-sensitive values in your browser such as your email (
workedge_email) and a referral code (referral_code).
- Analytics: Vercel Analytics for aggregate page views and performance metrics.
- Email tracking: Open rates and click rates via Buttondown to measure content engagement.
We do not use advertising cookies or share data with ad networks.
Data Retention
- We retain subscriber data while you remain subscribed, and for as long as needed to operate the Service (for example, to prevent duplicate sign-ups or enforce unsubscribe/suppression requests).
- You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
- Payment records are retained as required by law and by our payment processor.
Service Providers
- Buttondown: Subscriber list management and email delivery.
- Stripe: Payments, billing portal, and invoices.
- Resend: Transactional emails (for example, magic links and referral notifications).
- Vercel: Hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring.
- Upstash/Vercel KV: Referral attribution and credit ledger (keyed by email address).
Email Service
We use Buttondown to send emails. Your email is stored on their servers under their privacy policy.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
Your Rights
- Unsubscribe: Every email has an unsubscribe link
- Data deletion: Email us to have your data removed
- Data export: Request a copy of your data anytime
